The 2x Super Bowl champion, former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Tony Casillas, is going through a rough patch. He lost his wife, Tamara Ann Casillas, on March 30, 2026. A month later, Tony poured his heart out in a heartfelt post.

“It’s been a month since my beautiful wife, Tamara, unexpectedly passed away,” Tony penned a long, painful note on X on April 27. “The pain is still so real, not just for me, but for my kids, our family, friends, and everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.”

The couple first met in 1994, and it was love at first sight. Tony and Tamara had been married for 29 years before the tragedy struck. For Tony, she was his rock, best friend, and the forever constant.

"You’ve loved me at my highest and stood beside me at my lowest. That kind of love doesn’t just happen — it’s built day by day, choice by choice, prayer by prayer," read Tony's Instagram post on the occasion of their marriage anniversary.

The picture in the post was from their wedding at Cabo San Lucas, where they shared their vows on a beach.

Tony’s Instagram offers a glimpse into their shared life, showing the couple enjoying Pilates, traveling, and even hitting the golf course together.

Although the timeline is not publicly available, for quite a few years, she was battling breast cancer with Tony by her side. As reported in 2020, she underwent a double mastectomy, but there were still traces of the cancer in Tamara’s lymph nodes.

With the support of her doctors, husband, family, and friends, Tamara was able to overcome cancer.

“Don’t dwell on the negative. Keep your head up so you can see all the blessings around you," wrote Tony about Tamara's faith, which he will be carrying with him.

Tamara Ann Casillas is remembered by her kids, Chase, Jett, and Sophia, and her beloved husband, Tony Casillas.

Komen Dallas Race Leads Impactful Charity Efforts

Tamara Casillas was a breast cancer survivor who served as an honorary co-chair for the Susan G. Komen Dallas Race for the Cure.

Since its inception in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker to honor her sister, Susan G. Komen, they have contributed $3.6 billion to breast cancer research and community programs that help with mammograms, transportation, and other needs.

The 5K runs and fitness walks serve to promote awareness and raise funds for the breast cancer movement, celebrate survivorship, and commemorate those who have passed away from the disease.

They have various categories, like the 2 Days 40 miles race that raises $1800, as per their website.

Tamara Ann Casillas and Tony Casillas were the honorary chairs of the race. Her courage during her cancer battle and her contributions to society will continue to inspire many.
