On July 3, the Kelces welcomed their newest family member, Taylor Swift. With close friends and family in attendance, Travis Kelce took Swift as his wife at Madison Square Garden. His father, Ed, for one, couldn’t have been happier as he was always in awe of his now daughter-in-law.

“She is a very special person. One of the most giving and caring people I've ever met,” he said of Swift late in July 2025. 

As difficult it is to believe, Ed had not recoginzed Swigt when he first saw her in person at Travis’ home. In his interview on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, he shared how he couldn’t quite put his finger on the pop star’s identity. 

“Taylor walks in with a security guy, and I look at her, and I say [to my girlfriend], 'Oh my God! I know this kid, but I don't know what her name is,’” he said 2024.

Things have changed so much since then. Ed, the father of two NFL stars has been supportive and in disbelief over his son and daughter-in-law’s relationship. 

“It borders on the surreal,” the 74-year-old, told the Daily Mail. “There's no ifs, ands or buts about that ... it's pretty crazy when you stop and think about it.”

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Swift first started going out in 2023 having met in that summer. They two have been inseparable since. Travis has made cameos in Swift’s Eras Tour and she has been present in his games.

Swift and Ed remained a constant support to Travis and the singer spent time with the Kelce family duing games. Swift cheered for Kelce alongside his father, older brother Jason and sister in law Kylie. 

From not recognizing Swift to witnessing the couple take their vows to spend their lives together, Ed Travis has come a long way. He has been gushing about Swift since, as his interview at the American Century Championship was proof.

Their wedding choices were a testament how much the couple value friends and family.

It no surprise that Jason Kelce was his younger brother’s best man. After all, he has cheered for him even when they each other on the field. Jason wasn’t the only brother to stand beside the couple at the alter. 

Swift’s younger brother, Austin, served as her man of honor. The “Fate of Ophelia” singer did not have bridesmaids either and Travis skipped on groomsmen too. According to the New York Times, their friend Adam Sandler officiated the wedding. 

According to Swift’s rep, she and her groom wore Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by Jonathan Anderson, the fashion house’s creative director.
