New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart joined a campaign rally in New York to introduce President Donald Trump before a crowd gathered in support of the Republican congressman Mike Lawler.

As “Eye of the Tiger” played through the venue, Dart led supporters in a Giants chant before welcoming Trump to the stage, as per Fox News.

“Big Blue nation, it's a pleasure to be here,” Dart said. “What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here and, without further ado, I'm grateful, I'm honored, I'm pleased to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump."

After posting a 4-8 record, Dart spent his previous season trying to convince his team that he could become the face of the franchise.

Still early in his NFL career, the appearance was seen as his most visible political meet to date. Despite being one of the biggest public appearances, he appeared comfortable in front of the crowd.

Trump also welcomed Dart with a handshake and continued the show. The appearance quickly sparked debate among NFL fans across social media.

Fans Split Over Jaxson Dart’s Trump Appearance

The response across social media was rapid and divided. Many fans questioned Dart’s decision to publicly involve himself in politics early in his NFL career.

"Welp I'm rooting for another team,” a fan commented on an X post shared by a journalist, Aaron Rupar. The comment comes after Dart politically inclines himself with Trump and the Republican Party.

“I’m so disappointed,” another fan commented.

Fans often see sports as an escape but bringing politics into sports harms the community.

“Jaxson Dart is a mid-tier quarterback with very little talent! his arm is almost as bad as his political instincts!” Chris Mowrey said on X.

Many people are against the stance Dart took in the rally in New York. After his political leaning became clear, fans started targeting his talent and playstyle in the NFL.

“Perhaps he should find a new organization! Thankfully, I am becoming an Eagles football fan, and my quarterback, Jalen “Super Bowl MVP,” Hurts (which very few people can say) would never do such a terrible thing!” another fan responded.

Dart was given the starting job after starting QB, Russell Wilson, went 0-3 to start the season. The Giants had selected Dart 25th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft as a backup to Wilson.

After receiving the starting job, he completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards with 15 touchdown passes. He also rushed for nearly 500 yards and nine rushing touchdowns.

His appearance at this political rally will continue to divide the fans online. However, the Giants will focus on Dart’s growth before his second NFL season.
