President Donald Trump offered a surprising assessment of Jaxson Dart following the quarterback's appearance at the May 23 New York rally. The President praised Dart while the Giants' locker room managed the resulting fallout.
“I wish I looked just like Jaxson. He’s this guy; I said, ‘Is he a male model or what?’ He’s a handsome, beautiful guy and you know, a conservative guy. He said, “I love you, sir.” And I didn’t know he was doing it, but he’s potentially a great quarterback,” Trump said of the 23-year-old QB in his appearance on My View with Lara Trump.
Earlier this week, Dart had made a surprise appearance at Trump’s rally for Rep. Mike Lawler in New York. This development prompted a reply from Dart’s teammate, Abdul Carter.
“Thought this s*** was AI, what we doing man,” the linebacker replied, in a now deleted post, to a clip of Dart introducing the President.
After Dart’s introduction, Trump called Dart a “future Hall of Famer.” He said that the QB, in his sophomore year in the NFL, has a “lot of talent,” is a “beautiful guy,” and has “legs like tree trunks.”
Dart and Carter reportedly spoke to resolve the tension following the rally.
“Me & JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as Men. Yall can keep yall narratives,” Dart posted on X.
Carter was not the only player Dart spoke to. Insider reports suggest that the Dart spoke about the incident with veterans on the team.
The Giants' Locker Room Resolution Following Jaxson Dart's Rally Appereance
According to insiders, Dart addressed his teammates to discuss his meeting with Trump in Suffern last week. While Carter was not a part of the group, veterans Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jameis Winston were present.
“#Giants QB Jaxson Dart addressed teammates in a meeting yesterday to discuss his introduction of President Trump last week, sources tell me and @RapSheet,” Mike Garafolo posted on X on May 28. “Other team leaders spoke up as well, and Dart and the players worked through it. They are moving forward.”
According to ESPN, this meeting was intended to keep issues "internal."
Before that, on May 23, Giants’ offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor posted that the “locker room is fine.”
An Ole Miss alumnus, Jaxson Dart was picked 25th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. He started 12 games last season, passed for 2,272 yards, scored 15 touchdowns, and threw five interceptions.
The Giants just got done with their OTA No. 5, and Dan Salomone reported that the QB “powered through” in the windy weather. Dart completed some deep completions, including a touchdown to running back Eric Gray down the left sideline.
