The buzz around the Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart controversy has now reached the steps of the White House, and the latest statements of President Donald Trump further reinforce it.
Addressing the controversy on Saturday, President Trump shared a post on his social media thanking the New York Giants star quarterback for introducing him at the rally on Friday, May 22, 2026. The president also acknowledged the heat he is taking in return from the NFL community.
"Thank you, Jaxson! It was great being with you," the president wrote on his Truth Social platform. "I know you’re taking some heat ...of you, me, and everyone who surrounds us, but I also know that your Jersey also went to Number One, and you’re making Millions of Dollars, so YOU ARE A WINNER — THEY ARE ALL L*****."

The president’s response came at a crucial time, when the QB was taking a heavy beating from the locker room and the fans.
Taking on the critics head-on, the president supported the QB and praised him for his money-making potential.
He also thanked Dart for introducing him at the rally and indicated that he would see him again.
The saga of controversy began when linebacker Abdul Carter publicly called out Dart on X, questioning his presence and political stance.
“Thought this s*** was AI, what we doing man,” Carter wrote on X.
Since the hostility came from inside the locker room, it immediately went viral on social media and gained traction within the NFL universe.
The controversy has shown a division in the Giants' locker room based on political leaning.
Although Carter has turned down all the speculation about the locker room split, it has left a rift within the NFL community.
While criticism dominated the headlines, another NFL star stepped forward to publicly back Jaxson Dart.
Another NFL Star Stepped in to Defend Jaxson Dart
Amid the controversy, after Boomer Esiason, Breiden Fehoko, John Harbaugh, and Jameis Winston, another NFL star showed support for Jaxson Dart, as former All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant came to his defense.
Bryant took to social media and said he did not understand “the hate” Dart received for introducing President Donald Trump at a rally last week.
“I really don’t understand the hate Jaxon [sic] Dart got for introducing President Trump. Good or bad. If you support Trump or not, you’re in a lose-lose situation,” Bryant wrote on X. “Politics and religion are difficult for sports. Folks have the right to believe in whatever the f*** they want.”
Bryant’s comments shifted the discussion away from politics and toward personal freedom, arguing that athletes should not be attacked simply for appearing at public events.
His stance echoed the support Dart has received from several figures around the NFL, who believe the backlash has become larger than the original moment itself.
While the New York Giants are preparing for their 2026 NFL season, the controversy came as a surprise, leaving the locker room divided.
