NFL Insider Puts Pressure on Josh Allen After Back-to-Back Post Season Failures

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17) smiles at something someone said before the Buffalo Bills wild card game against the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Jan. 12, 2025.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has yet to win the team their first Super Bowl title. This is his ninth season with them, and now is the time to either make it or break it. NFL insider Cameron Wolfe recently addressed the situation with Allen.

"Josh Allen is in year nine," said Wolfe," He is not a young whippersnapper anymore. Talking to people who know Josh, he took the playoff loss very hard. He had a lot of turnovers. He put it on himself. He knows he has to play better... People will see the maturity in him in another way."

The Bills have never won a Super Bowl, though they are the only team in NFL history to reach Super Bowl matches back-to-back from the 1990 to 1993 seasons, but lost all four.

The Bills have experienced seven postseason exits since 2019.

In 2024, Buffalo made it to the playoffs. Despite Allen's strong individual performance, Buffalo lost in the Wild Card Round to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bills' loss was considered shocking because they had the AFC's most talented roster.

Last season, they were eliminated in the divisional round by the Denver Broncos in a 33-30 OT loss. The loss came as a huge shock because Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Baltimore were all absent from the AFC playoff field.

In Allen's defense, he has looked solid all throughout, with a career total of over 30,000 yards and 220 TD's, but the results haven't gone in his favor.

The expectations surrounding Allen have only grown as Buffalo continues to fall short in the postseason. While critics point to the team's recent playoff exits, some around the league still believe he is capable of leading the Bills to a breakthrough season.

Former Bills Player Thinks This Year Will Belong To Josh Allen

Josh Allen has failed to win the Super Bowl for the Bills, but this year might just be his. This comes from former Pro Bowler Mitch Morse himself, who has played for both the Kansas and Buffalo Bills.

During a recent episode of NFL Network's Good Morning Football, Mitch said:

"Who can refute that Patrick Mahomes is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time? He has the opportunity to continue this how many years he wants to play; who knows. … He’s going to win more Super Bowls, but I feel like it’s Josh Allen’s time.”

That's a big statement. Morse has played with both Mahomes and Allen in his career and knows both these players well. That remark should make any Bills fan happy.

Whether Allen can meet those expectations remains one of the biggest storylines facing Buffalo entering the 2026 season, particularly after consecutive playoff disappointments increased the pressure to deliver a championship.
