Joe Burrow’s MVP moment feels long overdue. After delivering back-to-back MVP-caliber seasons, only injury has stood in his way. With September approaching, Burrow is confident about chasing a Super Bowl, and so is one of his biggest critics.
Sports Illustrated's Connor Orr has been echoing through “print or online” that “Joe Burrow is to be the NFL’s MVP every year since 2022.” While he admits he has been proven wrong from time to time, he isn’t losing hope and believes this could finally be the year Burrow captures the MVP award.
“Cincinnati has the fourth-easiest schedule in the NFL, has maybe two daunting out-of-division road games, depending on how good the Commanders are, and a defense that can finally play complementary football and help the Bengals hold onto some of their leads. This is officially the last time I am picking Burrow to win the MVP award,” writes Connor Orr.
He further expressed that this year will be the last time he picks Joe as his MVP selection.
“This is officially the last time I am picking Burrow to win the MVP award. I promise,” he concluded.

According to StatMuse, Burrow's 2025 season was phenomenal, as he threw for 1,809 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions while completing 66.8% of his passes and posting an elite 100.7 passer rating.
His elite numbers are the reason Connor is so confident about him winning the MVP accolade.
However, the team should be careful with his health, as a healthy Burrow will keep the Bengals on the winning side. In addition to that, Joe Burrow himself is optimistic this year.
Joe Burrow Doubles Down on Super Bowl Dreams
Entering the 2026 season, the Bengals believe they have built a far more complete roster around Joe Burrow. The quarterback himself spoke with reporters at OTAs, where he expressed confidence that his team will win this year.
"This is the most talented roster we’ve had since I’ve been here," Burrow said as per Fox Sports. "The front office has taken a lot of heat from the fans, the public, and the media. We can put all of that behind us. They went and made it happen with free agency."
That’s not all; the Bengals quarterback made yet another eye-catching claim last month.
"The No. 1 thing is you have to win," Burrow said, as the Bengals are seeking to make the postseason for the first time since 2022. "We’re going to go win a lot of games this year and play great and win a Super Bowl."
Despite losing star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson to the Baltimore Ravens, a move Joe Burrow called “not surprising,” the Bengals have added some good defense to their roster in the shape of edge rusher Boye Mafe, defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, and safety Bryan Cook this offseason.
That said, what is your opinion about Joe Burrow? Will he be able to get the MVP this season?
