Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has achieved almost everything in the NFL except a Super Bowl title. But even on his 30th birthday on May 21, Allen faced criticism from sections of NFL fans online.
A social media post shared by ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter heralded Allen's 30th birthday. Fans took to social media to celebrate Allen's dual-threat dominance and what he's done for the Buffalo Bills.
They highlighted his back-to-back MVP wins, a profile that makes Allen one of the highest-paid players in league history.
But criticism quickly followed as well, citing his eight wins, seven losses in the playoffs, and zero Super Bowl appearances. For a quarterback this talented, with this supporting cast, that number follows him everywhere.
Unfortunately, it seems to have followed him into his 30th birthday, too.
One fan wrote, “We may have seen his peak. He won’t get any better and I expect him to not run as much.”
Another user mocked him for being replaced by Drake Maye, saying, "30 years old and lapped by a toddler."
Allen’s resume is no less than a Hall of Fame case. The veteran quarterback has recorded 30,102 passing yards and 220 passing touchdowns across his eight-year career.
He also holds a league-record 79 rushing touchdowns for a quarterback, a 2024 MVP award, and a $330 million extension through 2030.
Despite the criticism around the Super Bowl title, Allen’s off-field life and financial success continue to highlight how much his career has evolved over the years.
Super Bowl Questions Continue to Follow Allen Into His 30s
Josh Allen and his partner have entered a new phase in his life. He married actress and Sinners star Hailee Steinfeld in May 2025. And in April 2026, the couple welcomed a baby girl.
Apart from his family milestone, he achieved a major milestone in his NFL career. In eight NFL seasons, Allen has earned a staggering $232 million, a feat no other NFL player has achieved before turning 30.
At the age of 22, Allen began his NFL career in 2018 with a $13 million contract. His biggest career rise came between 2021 and 2025. The highest he earned in a year was $61 million in 2024.
He recorded five AFC East championships and seven playoff appearances with the Bills. He is the only quarterback who has broken the NFL record with 79 rushing touchdowns.
With major personal milestones, it will be interesting to watch whether he can win a Super Bowl title for Buffalo this season.
Despite entering his 30s, Allen remains one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks.
