Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen turned 30 on May 21. He enters the new season hoping to finally win a Super Bowl. While he will have to wait for that, he already made history by being the only NFL player to hit a milestone before turning 30.

According to a report by Spotrac, Allen hit the $200 million club, which the online sports analytics and statistics website celebrated on the occasion of his 30th birthday.

“Happy 30th birthday to QB Josh Allen,” Spotrac’s X post read on May 21. “His $232M earned on the field to date is the most by a player before turning 30 in NFL history.”

The next closest players on the list are Deshaun Watson ($188.8), Lamar Jackson ($187.3), Patrick Mahomes ($182), and Joe Burrow (177.1).

Allen holds a stat line of 30,102 passing yards, 220 passing touchdowns, and a 2024 MVP award. In eight seasons with the Bills, he owns five AFC East championships and seven playoff appearances. Allen is the only quarterback who has broken the NFL record with 79 rushing touchdowns.

At the age of 22, he began his NFL career in 2018 with earnings of $13 million. His biggest career rise came between 2021 and 2025. The highest he earned in a year was in 2024 with $61 million.

Last year in November, the Bills agreed to a six-year deal worth $330 that runs through 2030. The quarterback achieved all this before he turned 30.

Despite the historic numbers, concerns around Allen’s long-term durability and recent injury issues continue to follow him entering the new season.

Allen’s OTA Return Becomes Crucial for Buffalo Ahead of New Season

During a Week 16 matchup with the Browns, Allen broke a bone in his foot. He then had surgery at the end of January to remove a loose bone chip from his right foot. Early reports say that he is in good shape and making progress.

“Josh Allen is good to go and has been fine heading into OTAs coming off his foot surgery in the offseason,” Joe Brady said via Andy Young.

Allen is crucial for the Bills as he brings experience to the table. The Bills have drafted new faces and a newly appointed coach, Joe Brady.

Practice methods under former head coach Sean McDermott may differ from Brady’s approach, making it important for Allen to be involved in the OTAs. As both the Bills’ quarterback and a key locker-room leader, Allen also needs to develop a connection with newcomer DJ Moore.

While Allen is yet to return for the OTAs, share your thoughts on the quarterback making history.
