A high-profile NFL couple demonstrated their commitment to a loved one the day after they experienced one of their most important personal milestones. The couple showed that their essential relationships took priority over their difficult duties.

Josh Allen, along with his wife and actress, Hailee Steinfeld, who became first-time parents just the day before, went to show up for their best buddy.

The Bills quarterback and the Academy Award nominee attended the wedding of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and Katie Hoofnagle on Friday, April 3, with their newborn announcement still fresh.

The depth of the relationship between Allen and Darnold is demonstrated through that particular gesture.

The two quarterbacks have been close since both entered the NFL in 2018, working out together through the pre-draft process, living as roommates, and even quarantining together during COVID.

Allen once described Darnold as "one of the greatest dudes," a friendship that lasted far beyond the field of play.

Allen has openly credited their exchanges because he uses Darnold's mechanics in his own game development. The two players developed their professional relationship through their time playing for different teams.

Darnold's Super Bowl victory with the Seahawks during his first season there enhances their competitive rivalry because of their shared past. Allen, an NFL MVP who has not yet won a championship, has all the motivation he needs to start working after seeing his friend's championship ring.

Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld Recently Surprised Fans With a Personal Moment

While Josh Allen and his partner Hailee were happy for their dear friend Sam Darnold, the couple themselves surprised fans with an emotional announcement.

Steinfeld broke the news through her newsletter, Beau Society, on Thursday morning with a sweet line, "Special delivery..." which included an image of a stork carrying a baby wrapped in a pink heart cloth.

"Our baby girl has arrived!! We're feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savouring these early moments," Steinfeld wrote. "Thank you so much for the love and well wishes. Love, Hailee and Josh."

The couple maintained secrecy about their baby's name and birth date. Allen and Hailee made their pregnancy announcement on December 12, 2025, which occurred after their wedding that took place on May 31. 

Allen and Steinfeld began their public relationship in spring 2023, and they engaged during the Bills' bye week in November 2024, while their off-field activities created a shared life between them.

Towards late January, Allen also outlined his vision of fatherhood,

"This is the most important thing I'll ever be in my life, is being a dad. And I know, I love being a football player and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I'm looking forward to this one." he said.

Allen starts his ninth season with the Bills under the direction of new coach Joe Brady while he recovers from foot surgery and prepares for his most significant upcoming responsibilities.
