The Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback situation has remained a big topic of discussion this offseason, eerily similar to what happened last year. But this time, the Eagles' quarterback, Jalen Hurts, has weighed in on the situation.
During the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2026 schedule release video, Jalen Hurts was asked about the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Steelers’ quarterback situation and whether Aaron Rodgers would be under center for the team this season.
“Who knows?” Hurts replied.

Steelers Nation has felt this same situation throughout a tough offseason of contract talks. Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to return for a second season in Pittsburgh, but his deal is still not officially done.
The Eagles will host the Steelers in week 11 at Lincoln Financial Field this season. And Philly has been stronger in this matchup, winning three of the last four games against the Steelers.
And in games that were held in Philadelphia, the Steelers have not won a single game after 1965.
Hurts’ short response shows how the Steelers QB situation was viewed in the league.
However, now it's being reported that Rodgers may actually be back for this season with Pittsburgh.
Aaron Rodgers Signs a One-Year Deal With Pittsburgh
Just hours after Hurts’ comment went viral, the Pittsburgh Steelers addressed their quarterback situation by finalizing a deal with their veteran quarterback.
"Aaron Rodgers’ one-year deal with the Steelers includes $22 million guaranteed, per source. He can make up to $25M with incentives," NFL Network’s insider Tom Pelissero reported Sunday.
However, according to Spotrac, the 42-year-old signed a $15 million deal for the 2026 season. It’s a jump from his earlier $13.65 million salary and was done just before the team’s offseason training started.
Rodgers returns to work under head coach Mike McCarthy, his former Green Bay Packers coach.
