A.J. Brown has noticed how Drake Maye handles mistakes, praising the Patriots quarterback for taking responsibility even when the blame may not be his. He has already seen a side of Drake Maye that has stood out since joining the New England Patriots.
Speaking with former Patriots safety Devin McCourty on the NFL on NBC podcast, Brown praised Maye for the way he handles things with his teammates.
“He's incredible, man. He's fun to play with, and I can't wait,” A.J. Brown said on September 5.

That relationship could be important for the Patriots as Brown begins his first season in New England after arriving from the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns last season with Philadelphia.
“He's such a great guy, and he always takes the blame for any little thing. And I'm like, Drake, it's okay. Like, it's not that deep, you know?” Brown said on the NFL on NBC podcast on September 5.
Maye is also coming off a strong season, leading the NFL with a 72% completion rate and 8.9 yards per attempt while helping New England reach Super Bowl LX.
Brown has already shown his toughness in training camp, too. After dislocating his thumb, he stayed on the field and scored three touchdowns, according to Heavy.
Now, Brown and Maye are preparing for their first regular-season game together when the Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks on September 9 in a Super Bowl LX rematch.

Drake Maye believes the Patriots can take lessons from their Super Bowl LX loss into Wednesday’s rematch, with a healthier line and new weapons around him.
The New England Patriots have made plenty of changes since their 29-13 Super Bowl LX loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
“I think one of the biggest things is we got to see what it’s like. We got some new faces, and we experienced it, and we got to learn from it,” Drake Maye said, according to the Boston Herald.
The Patriots now have a new-look receiving group, led by offseason addition A.J. Brown alongside Romeo Doubs and DeMario Douglas. Maye has already built a good connection with Brown and Doubs during the summer.
“You love guys in that room, in our skill position room, that I feel like we have that make my job easier and that make me look good,” Maye added.
The Patriots now get their chance to show whether the changes they made over the offseason can produce a different result when they face Seattle on Wednesday.
