The Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson has spoken highly of one of his new teammates, rookie wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane. Jackson predicted that Lane's presence would be felt in future games whenever he gets a chance.

As the offseason has begun, so have training camps for every team, with the Ravens' camp beginning on July 29. But on Saturday, August 1, on Day 3 of practice, Jackson did a post-practice interview, praising the young wide receiver.

"He's different," Jackson said on August 1. "Long arms, strong hands. He's a physical receiver, but I like to evaluate my players when the pads get on, when we're playing in games. Anybody can look good in practice. But I feel like he'll be good in games as well."

According to the Baltimore Ravens, Jackson thinks that Lane could perform in an actual NFL game. Lane performed for the USC Trojans last season, recording 745 yards from scrimmage, averaging 15.2 receiving yards per play. He also had four receiving touchdowns and ended the year with 49 receptions.

In his three-year college career, he gained 1,363 receiving yards, averaging 45.4 yards per game in 30 games. He also had 18 touchdowns and 99 receptions.

The rookie hasn't stopped impressing, as Lane showed his skills on Monday's practice in a one-on-one drill for the wide receivers against the defensive backs.

Early playing time will not come easy for Lane, who is expected to battle Devontez Walker and Elijah Sarratt for a top-three receiver role alongside veteran targets Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.

Meanwhile, this isn't the first time that Jackson has spoken positively about the rookie.

Jackson is liking the way rookie Lane is progressing in this offseason. Lane practiced with Jackson in mid-June after signing a four-year $7 million contract with the Ravens. Jackson thought highly of Lane and another rookie wide receiver, Elijah Sarratt, back then as well.

"It's a game of interest. And a lot of plays are bang-bang plays," Jackson said on June 18, per the Baltimore Ravens YouTube channel. "You know, good DB, good receiver, good tight end, good linebackers, stuff like that. So, we need guys to be able to make those types of catches, and they're doing a wonderful job."

Lane also praised received praise from another wide receiver, Zay Flowers, the No. 1 wide receiver, while addressing the press.

"He got that dog mentality like he want to play," said Flowers. "He want to go get the ball. He want to he want to do everything. He want to learn."

Lane, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 200 pounds, has the type of frame that helps him win contested catches. He has also shown sharp speed and quick cuts in his routes, and his one-handed practice catch was a perfect example of those skills.

The players continue to train for now. The training camp runs from July 29 to August 17 at the Under Armour Performance Center.
