“He’s always having a good time”: Patrick Mahomes names favorite Chiefs teammate for vacation

Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is currently busy working on his recovery and participating in offseason practice. However, the QB is not neglecting his promotional duties as the brand ambassador for Swiss watchmaker Hublot either.

Mahomes was a guest at a Hublot-sponsored party in Malibu recently. At the event, NFL reporter Cam Wolfe asked him about the Chiefs teammate he would like to go on vacation with.

"Obviously, the easy answer is Travis [Kelce]. But now that he’s getting a little older, I’m going to go with one of the young guys. Xavier Worthy, he’s always having a good time," said Mahomes on Friday, per GQ. "He golfs now, and I golf a lot. And my kids love seeing him because he’s fast—they like watching him play."

Mahomes and Worthy's dynamic clearly demonstrates the veteran and youngster's developing chemistry. The GQ interview with Wolfe made that clear.

For the record, it was Mahomes who played a big role in drafting Worthy to Kansas. Mahomes liked Worthy's speed as a receiver and his lithe frame. His hard style of play impressed the Texas born athlete considerably.

Mahomes also spoke about the Bahamas, his favorite summer destination. But while other players often planned vacations in the offseason after not making the playoffs, the Chiefs QB schedules vacations and commercials after February.

"'Don’t put a commercial before the end of February, [until after] the Super Bowl.' That’s my mindset," added Mahomes.

The QB did have his go-to ways to unwind in the summer. He loved attending his kids' sporting events and playing golf. But he admitted that "the worst thing about summer is that there’s no football."

The most important question now is whether Mahomes will be able to start on time. If he does, fans might witness him and Worthy in action.

NFL insider gives Patrick Mahomes training camp update

July will see the Kansas City Chiefs begin training camp. Mahomes is expected to be there, making his talked-about comeback. However, Kansas is playing it safe and not rushing things, keeping the QB's recent ACL injury in mind.

According to Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer, there are some positives to be seen.

"His arm has looked good, given how rehab limited his throwing work over the past six months. He’s trending toward being cleared for 11-on-11 work at the start of camp, but the plan is to be smart here," stated Breer. "The Chiefs know, given the competitor in question, once they tell Mahomes he can go, he will go; they’ll likely pace him some early on. But he’s in a good place, way ahead of the normal ACL/LCL rehab timeline."

Mahomes was already seen playing  7-on-7s, which is great news for the Chiefs. The only thing the Chiefs need to do now is to make sure that Mahomes doesn't overdo it.

Kansas City is counting on its main man to return. Do you think Mahomes will be fit before Week 1? Let us know in the comments.
