After not getting a meaningful chance over the last few seasons, the Buffalo Bills' former quarterback changed his career path.
Nathan Peterman joined Range Sports, the agency that represented him during his NFL career, but this time not as a player. Instead, he joined as an agent under NFLPA agent Kyle Strongin.
“I got to live through what I’m now getting tested on in the CBA,” Peterman said on Tuesday. “Being up and down on a roster, being put on IR, negotiating contracts. I hope I can help a younger person that’s on a similar journey.”
Peterman will bring his experience as a former NFL quarterback into his new role. And he will focus on NFL player representation, talent identification, recruiting, NIL representation, and additional agent responsibilities pending certification.
His work will involve guiding players as they move from high school and college football to the professional level.

He becomes part of Range Sports' football division, a team that works in many major U.S. cities and works with dozens of NFL and NIL athletes. The agency's client roster includes established NFL players, rising prospects, and some of the country's top young football talents.
Whether Peterman will succeed in it or not, only time will tell, but what journey did he take in the NFL that led him from the quarterback position to the role of an agent?
A Look Back at Peterman's NFL Career
Nathan Peterman entered the NFL after the Buffalo Bills selected him in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Peterman entered the league with an opportunity to be a reliable backup quarterback, but his time in Buffalo came under pressure. He completed 52.30% of his passes while recording 13 interceptions in eight games.
One of the toughest games in Peterman’s career came against the Chargers in 2017, when he recorded five interceptions in the first half. Things didn’t really get better after that. In 2018, the Bills gave him the Week 1 start, but he completed just five of 18 passes for 24 yards and recorded two interceptions before rookie Josh Allen took his place.
Even after all of the struggles. He spent time with several teams, including the Raiders, Bears, Saints, and Falcons, trying to extend his NFL career well after his time in Buffalo.
But he received limited regular-season opportunities and earned roster spots with his preparation and willingness to take on different roles.
However, his career numbers never showed the success he once hoped to achieve. However, his experience gave him something equally valuable as he gets the understanding of the challenges players face while dealing with contracts, roster moves, injuries, and uncertainty.
Those experiences have helped Peterman step up for a role as an NFL agent. How do you think he will be taking up this role after spending more than 5 years in the field? Let us know!
