The NFL has finally given its verdict on Brendan Sorsby's row. The league would not be conducting the 2026 NFL supplemental draft, which finally ended his aspirations to play football in the 2026 season.

According to Brent Sobleski of the Bleacher Report, he proposed the names for the top five collegiate prospects who could be pursued by the franchises in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Drake Lindsey, Minnesota Golden Gophers

The 20-year-old redshirt starter is considered‌ one of the best passers in the Big 10. Ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft, Lindey has gained popularity for his elite arm strength and rare 6 ft 5 in body frame.

"Drake's just got to make better decisions, just like all the players on our team," Gophers head coach PJ Fleck told reporters. "Take accountability for those decisions, learn from those decisions, and be better for it.

He is seen as a longer developmental collegiate prospect, so far he has thrown for 2,432 yards and scored 19 TDs in 16 games.

LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina Gamecocks

Considered the most physically gifted QB in collegiate football. During his three-season journey in the NCAA, he has appeared in 27 games, covering 5,057 yards and recording 33 touchdowns.

"He's playing well, and LaNorris is a football junkie, and loves the game and loves working at it, studying it and watching it," Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer said this spring.

He is known for his signal-calling ability and athleticism. Sellers is blessed with a 6 ft 3 inches and 240 pounds frame, which makes him an elite passer. From the past two seasons, he has been playing as a starter in the SEC, where he appeared in 24 games, where he threw for 4,129 yards with 28 touchdowns.

His ball placement and calling ability to take the throws make him stand out from the other options.

CJ Bailey, North Carolina State Wolfpack

Bailey has entered his sophomore year in 2025 while playing for the Wolfpack. He appeared in 25 games where Bailey threw for 5,518 yards and scored 42 touchdowns.

"He's not learning a new offense. He's literally learning what he knows to another level right now," North Carolina State head coach Dave Doeren told reporters. "It's been fun. I'm really proud of CJ for the way that he's attacking these practices right now.

The young quarterback stands 6 ft 6 in tall and weighs 213 pounds, and is famous for his whiplike release and ability to throw on the move, which are impressive delivery mechanisms.

DJ Lagway, Baylor Bears

Like the others in the list, Lagway also possesses the raw physical powers that he uses in his gameplay. He has two years of collegiate football experience, where he appeared in 24 games for the Bears, covering 4,179 yards and scoring 28 TDs.

During his career, he was the top-paid recruit, but he also suffered from multiple injuries, including shoulder issues, a pulled hamstring, a core injury, injuries in his knees, and calves.

Even with the set of injuries, he maintained his production. The QB comes with a raw strength of big arms and athleticism.

Josh Hoover, Indiana Hoosiers

Unlike others, Hoover does not possess raw physical strength. But he does have a mind that is required to play the ball. The 22-year-old QB is expected to fill in the shoes of Fernando Mendoza, who became the opener of the 2026 NFL draft and joined the Las Vegas Raiders.

He is the most experienced of them all. He started his journey in 2022 with Texas Christian and has already played 36 games with 71 TDs while throwing for 9,629 yards.

"We'd like to see him play a little faster, practice with a little more urgency," Hoosiers head coach Curt Cignetti told reporters. "Drive every ball.

The Hoosiers’ coaching staff is working to turn him into a premium prospect.
