A possible split might have happened between the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown. Fans have closely observed every offseason development between the two ahead of the 2026 campaign.

A social media post highlighted how wide receiver A.J. Brown did not invite Hurts to his wedding at Montage Laguna Beach. Brown married Kelsey Riley on May 16 in California. Hurts was not present or spotted in the pictures of the wedding party.

"WR A.J. Brown did not invite Jalen Hurts to his wedding this weekend," the post read. "That's because Jalen Hurts was invited to A.J. Brown's engagement ceremony last May, but Hurts decided to go to the Met Gala instead."

Hurts was also not present at Brown's engagement party, which was a personal moment in Brown's life. Brown got engaged to Kelsey on May 3, 2025, at the Four Seasons Philadelphia with a big celebration featuring John Legend.

Some of the Eagles' players attended the engagement party except for Hurts. DeVonta Smith, Jordan Mailata, and Lane Johnson were spotted celebrating and posing for photos at the party.

However, the quarterback appeared at the Met Gala 2025 with his wife, Bryonna Rivera Burrows on May 5.

"Hurts' decision to attend the Met Gala instead of the engagement ceremony is what has led to the current rift between Brown and Hurts," Vick3 wrote.

Fan theories suggest that since Hurts prefers to maintain low, maybe that can explain his absence. He also did not show up for the celebration of the Eagles' NFC championship at White House.

Hurts and Brown have been friends for more than a decade. Hurts is also the godfather to Brown's daughter in 2023. However, some incidents show Hurts and Brown's friendship is falling apart.

NFL Insider Offer Insights into Hurts and Brown Rift

Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown have been close friends since their high school days in 2015. The duo led the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances and earned the team one Lombardi Trophy.

NFL insider Jeremy Fowler discussed the professionalism between Brown and Hurts.

"Multiple team sources say they never saw Brown and Hurts engage in an argument during the season and were professional throughout the season," Fowler wrote.

In 2025, Brown even admitted that they have fought against each other.

"But both also tend to internalize issues, which leads to a lack of communication; clearing the air probably doesn't happen as often as it should," Fowler wrote.

The tension just appeared in the 2024 season. Hurts and Brown have different opinions on how the team should move forward. After offensive struggles last season, the disconnection seemed clear, as per ESPN.
