A new NFL power ranking has started debates across Buffalo, and this time it is not because of Josh Allen's play. This ranking raised questions about how much faith outsiders have in the Buffalo Bills' new leadership.
NFL Spin Zone, FanSided evaluated every quarterback-head coach duo in the league. Buffalo's combination of Josh Allen and first-year head coach Joe Brady was ranked at No. 15. The arrival of Brady as a rookie HC has impacted the duo's placement.
"Josh Allen and Joe Brady come in at No. 15 in our power rankings," wrote Lou Scataglia, a reporter for FanSided. "We have yet another first-time head coach, but Brady’s ascension was a bit different, as he was already with the franchise and simply got promoted."

The FanSided report by Lou Scataglia shows the uncertainty around Brady's shift from offensive coordinator to head coach, adding uncertainty to the brand-new Allen-Brady dynamic.
This season will also mark a major change for Josh Allen, who now moves forward without longtime head coach Sean McDermott after the Bills parted ways with him in January 2026.
McDermott helped transform Buffalo into a perennial contender during his nine-year run, ending the franchise's 17-year playoff drought and leading the team to five straight AFC East titles between 2020 and 2024.
But despite compiling 106 total wins and multiple postseason appearances, the Bills will now enter a completely new era around Allen moving forward.
The coaching stability is a major part across the league. The well-known veteran coaches, such as Andy Reid, Sean McVay, and others, benefited from years of success, making it difficult for new duos to make it to the top.
Still, the Bills have plenty of opportunities to prove critics wrong. If Brady's offense continues to grow and Allen performs at an MVP level, Buffalo could reach a higher ranking and strengthen its Super Bowl credentials.
However, there will be more changes coming as Brady has taken over for his first season.
Joe Brady expected to give James Cook a bigger offensive role in 2026
As the Buffalo Bills prepare under first-year HC Joe Brady, running back James Cook could be in line for a noticeable change.
After becoming one of the league's most explosive backs, Cook may see a larger workload that goes beyond traditional rushing duties.
“Now that Joe Brady is the head coach, he dictates how he wants the offense and the game to be played,” said Greg Cosell on the Ross Tucker Podcast via Sports Illustrated's Alex Brasky. “The big question to me is: do they stay with their run-pass ratio.”
NFL analyst Greg Cosell believes Brady's offense could use Cook more as a receiving threat, to create mismatches against the linebackers, and to open opportunities for Josh Allen.
