The wait might finally be over for the Pittsburgh Steelers, with Aaron Rodgers reportedly set to visit them over the weekend.
As per NFL Network reporter Kevin Patra, the future Hall of Famer is potentially re-signing with the team.
“Rodgers, who is expected to visit the Steelers on Friday and this weekend, will likely play for them in 2026, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday, per sources,” Patra wrote.
Rapoport also stated that Rodgers has not officially signed with the Steelers, even though both sides seem interested.
After not receiving a reply from the ten-time Pro Bowler by the start of the NFL Draft, Steelers owner Art Rooney made another statement via NFL Network last Wednesday.
“Even though I thought it probably would have been concluded by now, I think we will come to a conclusion here in the next few weeks.”

And it seems this time the prediction might come true.
The Steelers also placed the rarely used UFA tender on Rodgers to secure a compensatory draft pick if he were to sign with another team following the NFL Draft. This would give Rodgers about a 10% raise from his 2025 salary of $13.7 million, bringing it to around $15 million.
But Rodgers might not play for that amount, and even Rapoport admitted that was “hard to imagine.”
Former Steelers QB Charlie Batch also said on his Snap Count podcast that Rodgers’ representatives would likely push for something closer to a $30 million deal after the kind of season he had in 2025.
However, there are rumors that Aaron Rodgers is already in a secret deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Has Rodgers Already Made An Inside Deal With The Steelers?
At the age of 42, Aaron Rodgers is still one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL.
In the 2025 season, he recorded 3,322 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to an AFC North title and a playoff berth.
The Steelers still have confidence that he will be the one to take the team to a playoff win and perhaps even a Super Bowl victory. So, the rumors of a “private agreement” between both sides emerging were not too far-fetched.
However, Ian Rapoport confirmed via a Good Morning Football segment with Kyle Brandt that those rumors were exactly that, rumors.
“I don't get the sense there was like a private agreement. I think it was more like, ‘Trust this process.’ It was good last year for him. It was good last year for us,” Rapoport revealed.
So, now the only thing that remains to be seen is when Rodgers will make an official agreement with the Steelers.
